Quick choosing guide
- Layout first: place fixtures on the inside of curves and stagger sides for a natural rhythm.
- Height & spacing: 18–24" tall set about 3–4× the fixture height apart (often 5–8 ft) for even pools of light.
- Brightness & CCT: 2700–3000K feels welcoming; 100–150 lm suits most paths—go higher for wide drives or darker sites.
- Glare control: choose wider hats, louvered/shielded optics, or frosted lenses near seating and windows.
- Power & wiring: 12V systems need a transformer sized for total watts + ~20% headroom; keep voltage drop in check with proper cable gauge and hub splits.
- Durability: pick brass or marine-grade finishes for coastal installs; confirm wet-location ratings.
