Quick choosing guide

  1. Size the load: add fixture watts and pick a transformer with ~20–30% headroom (e.g., 180W load → 300W transformer).
  2. Pick your taps: choose multi-tap 12–15V to keep the farthest fixtures near 11–12V.
  3. Plan control: dusk-to-dawn photocell, astronomic timer, or app/Wi-Fi for schedules.
  4. Choose enclosure: stainless for coastal/high-exposure; powder-coat for standard sites.
  5. Wiring layout: use hub or T-splits with heavier gauge cable on long runs to minimize drop.

Pro tips: Mount the transformer vertical and above grade with a drip loop, land 120V on a GFCI-protected circuit, and aim for ~11–12V at the farthest fixture. Group similar run lengths together, upsize cable on long pulls, and leave slack for service.
