Un orificio o dispositivo limitador de ventilación, cuando se utiliza con reguladores Maxitrol, no libera ni alivia el gas combustible al medio ambiente durante el funcionamiento normal.
Los limitadores de ventilación están diseñados para usarse en interiores y en espacios donde es fundamental limitar la cantidad de escape de gas debido a una falla del diafragma. Los limitadores de ventilación no deben usarse al aire libre si están expuestos al medio ambiente.
Los limitadores de ventilación sólo se pueden instalar en reguladores para los que estén certificados. Los limitadores de ventilación solo deben instalarse directamente en la conexión de ventilación del regulador sin tuberías ni accesorios intermedios. Cuando se utiliza un dispositivo limitador de ventilación, el regulador debe instalarse en posición vertical horizontal.
NOTA: Los limitadores de ventilación Maxitrol cumplen con ANSI Z21.80/CSA 6.66. El requisito establece que "los limitadores de ventilación deben estar fabricados con materiales que tengan puntos de fusión no inferiores a 800 °F (427 °C)".
