G4

G4 bi-pin lamps are a compact, efficient choice for landscape fixtures like path, step, deck, and small accent lights. Choose long-life LED retrofits or classic halogen and match the 4 mm bi-pin base for an easy upgrade.

Shop by need

  • LED G4 (12V): about 1.5–5W, many dimmable, AC or DC compatible (model dependent)
  • Halogen G4: traditional 5–20W for legacy installs and warm color
  • Shapes: capsule, disc, tower, side-pin and back-pin styles for tight housings

Quick choosing guide

  1. Confirm the base: G4 = 4 mm pin spacing. Do not mix with GY6.35 (6.35 mm).
  2. Match voltage and driver: most landscape fixtures use 12V. Pick LEDs rated for your transformer type (magnetic or electronic) and for AC or DC as required.
  3. Pick the shape: capsule for general fit, disc or side-pin for shallow caps, tower for higher output.
  4. Set brightness: LED ~2–3W ≈ old 10W halogen; 3–4W ≈ 20W. Go higher for darker sites or wider throws.
  5. Choose color: 2700–3000K feels natural outdoors; keep CCT consistent within each zone.

Pro tips: Clean contacts during relamps, replace worn gaskets in sealed housings, and aim for about 11–12V at the farthest 12V fixture. If LEDs flicker, add transformer headroom, use a hub layout, or choose lamps rated for your transformer and dimmer.
