Outdoor pendant lights create welcoming, layered light over porches, patios, pergolas, and outdoor kitchens. Choose wet- or damp-rated fixtures in modern, classic, or coastal styles—available as integrated-LED or lamp-ready designs with durable finishes built for the elements.

Shop by need

  • Locations: porch/entry, covered patio, pergola & gazebo, dining/bar islands
  • Mounting: cord, chain, or rigid stem; single, multi-light cluster, or linear
  • Light source: integrated LED or bulb-ready (E26/E12/GU10); dimmable options
  • Ratings: damp for covered spaces; wet for exposed locations; marine-grade options
  • Shades & optics: clear/seeded/opal glass, metal shades, cut-off/downlight for low-glare

Quick choosing guide

  1. Size & scale: for entries, fixture width ≈ 1/4–1/5 of door width; over tables/counters, hang ~30–36" above surface.
  2. Height & spacing: keep ~7' clear headroom in walk zones; use multiples over long bars and space evenly.
  3. Brightness & color: 2700–3000K for warm outdoor ambiance; ~400–800 lm per pendant for general glow—add more for tasks.
  4. Environment: choose wet-rated for exposed weather; brass or marine-grade finishes near coast.
  5. Power: 120V hardwired to a junction box (GFCI where required) or 12V low-voltage pendants on a landscape transformer.
  6. Dimming: match the fixture/LED driver to your dimmer type (TRIAC/ELV) or use dimmable smart lamps.

Pro tips: Use weather-rated boxes and gel-filled connectors outdoors, seal the top of the canopy (leave the bottom unsealed for drainage), and specify wet-rated fixtures for exposed locations. For 12V installs, size the transformer for total watts + ~20% headroom and keep voltage drop in check.
