Chronomite 240V SR Tankless Water Heaters

Chronomite 240V SR Series tankless water heaters are compact point-of-use electric water heaters for sinks, lavatories, handwashing stations, bar sinks, utility sinks, and under-sink hot water applications. These Instant-Flow SR models heat water as it passes through the unit, helping reduce hot water wait time when installed close to the fixture.

Shop Chronomite 240V SR models

  • SR-20L/240: low-activation 240V model for lower-flow point-of-use applications where the faucet may not meet standard activation flow
  • SR-40/240: higher-output 240V model for applications needing more temperature rise and stronger electrical capacity

Common uses

  • Restroom lavatories: point-of-use hot water for handwashing sinks
  • Breakroom and bar sinks: compact under-sink hot water where demand is limited
  • Utility sinks: small fixture applications where hot water is needed close to the basin
  • Remote fixtures: sinks located far from the main water heater where wait time is a concern
  • Higher temperature-rise needs: 240V models can provide more heating capacity than smaller 120V point-of-use units when the electrical service supports the load

How to choose the right Chronomite 240V model

  1. Start with flow rate: compare the fixture GPM with the heater activation flow and temperature-rise chart.
  2. Check temperature rise: subtract incoming water temperature from desired outlet temperature to see how much heat the unit must add.
  3. Choose low or standard activation: low-activation models are helpful for lower-flow faucets; standard-activation models are used where the fixture flow is higher.
  4. Verify electrical service: confirm voltage, amperage, breaker size, wire size, and single-phase power requirements before ordering.
  5. Install close to the fixture: Chronomite recommends point-of-use installation close to the sink for best performance.
  6. Do not size by voltage alone: a 240V model still needs to match the fixture GPM, temperature rise, and available electrical capacity.

Use filters to narrow by brand, voltage, model number, activation type, kW rating, and application. Not sure which Chronomite 240V unit fits? Share the fixture GPM, incoming water temperature, desired outlet temperature, breaker size, and wire size so we can help confirm the best match.

Model Voltage Activation kW / Amps Wire Size Best Fit
SR-20L/240 240V Low activation 4.80 kW / 20A 12 AWG Lower-flow lavatories, hand sinks, and point-of-use under-sink installs
SR-40/240 240V Standard activation 9.60 kW / 40A 8 AWG Higher-output point-of-use applications with proper flow and electrical service

Always verify exact model specs, breaker requirements, wire size, activation flow, and temperature-rise performance against the current Chronomite manual before purchase.

Pro tips: Chronomite 240V SR models should be sized by flow rate and temperature rise, not by voltage alone. Use the SR-20L/240 when low activation flow is important, and consider the SR-40/240 when the application needs more temperature rise and the electrical service can support the higher amp draw. Before ordering, confirm incoming water temperature, fixture GPM, breaker size, amperage, and wire size. For best results, install the unit close to the fixture, flush debris from the water line before startup, and follow the current Chronomite installation instructions.
