Compatibility & Installation Notes

Flush the piping before installation. Use PTFE thread-sealing tape on threaded connections; do not put PVC cement or other glue on sprinkler threads.

Match the bottom or side connection and seal the unused inlet. Rain Bird does not recommend side-inlet installation in freezing climates.

For a part-circle pattern, lower the trip pin and set the adjustable stops. Raise the trip pin for full-circle operation. Check the pattern with the zone running.

Select the nozzle for operating pressure, available flow and desired overlap. The full family radius and flow ranges are not the performance of every nozzle setting.

The illustrated Maxi-Paw instructions specify arm-spring position B for the supplied blue nozzle. If changing nozzle size or trajectory, follow the applicable host/nozzle guidance.

The SAM check valve controls low-head drainage after shutdown within its elevation rating. It does not serve as backflow protection or a pressure regulator.

Use the purple cover for non-potable system identification. Confirm the complete irrigation design and required backflow protection; the cover does not make water safe to drink.
