The Intermatic IG2240-IMSK Smart Guard is a modular whole-home surge protective device for 120/240 VAC single-phase electrical systems. It can be installed as a Type 1 or Type 2 SPD in an approved indoor application and provides six modes of protection across line, neutral, and ground connections. The system uses three replaceable IMODULE surge modules, allowing a depleted module to be serviced without replacing the complete base enclosure.
Each module includes power and protection-status indicators for routine inspection. Tamper-resistant module doors are designed to open only as a module is inserted. This IMSK version also includes a module power switch, which allows power to the SPD to be disconnected during approved module replacement procedures. The black Type 1 metal enclosure is for indoor use and must be installed with the correct service configuration, grounding, conductor routing, and overcurrent protection.
