Brand: K-Rain SKU: 6402
Product Overview
The K-Rain 6402 is a four-outlet 6000 Series distributing valve preconfigured for two-zone operation. It alternates hydraulically between two selected outlets each time the upstream pump or control valve stops and restarts water flow. The remaining physical outlets stay outside the sequence established by the installed two-zone cam.
The 6000 Series is K-Rain's heavier-duty indexing-valve platform for pump-fed systems, high-flow city-water installations, and approved onsite wastewater or effluent applications. Its upper housing is die-cast metal, while the outlet section uses high-strength ABS polymer. The valve has a 1½-inch female NPT inlet, four 1½-inch slip outlets, a listed flow range of 15 to 150 GPM, and a pressure range of 25 to 150 PSI.
Only the stem-and-disc assembly moves during normal indexing, which keeps the mechanism serviceable. A built-in atmospheric vacuum breaker supports draining and resetting between cycles, but it should not automatically be treated as the complete backflow protection required by every plumbing or irrigation code. Reliable operation requires vertical installation, at least approximately 15 GPM, a complete interruption of flow between cycles, and downstream zones designed within the available hydraulic capacity.

Compatibility and Installation Notes
Install vertically and identify the two active outlets before connecting laterals. Use compatible PVC primer and cement for the outlet connections and appropriate thread sealant at the inlet. Size the pump, valve, and piping for the selected zone demand and allow water flow to stop fully before the next cycle begins. Confirm all separate backflow requirements with local code.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does a two-zone valve have four outlets?
The factory two-zone cam places only two of the four physical outlets into the operating sequence.
Can it be changed to three or four zones?
Yes. Install the compatible P8002903 or P8002904 cam and revise the outlet piping as needed.
Is the built-in vacuum breaker always sufficient for code compliance?
No. Required backflow protection depends on the water source, application, and local code.
Why Buy the K-Rain 6402 from Big Frog Supply?
The 6402 provides the heavy-duty 6000 Series body already configured for two zones, avoiding a separate cam-selection step. Big Frog Supply also carries the exact cams, top and bottom assemblies, stem-and-disc components, and vacuum-breaker parts used to maintain or reconfigure the valve.
