Product Overview
The Hunter RFC is a wired Rain/Freeze-Clik sensor designed to interrupt automatic irrigation when rain begins or when outdoor temperature reaches freezing-risk conditions. Quick Response technology can stop irrigation within the first few minutes of rainfall rather than waiting for a preset amount of water to accumulate. The integrated freeze sensor is designed to keep the system from operating at or below approximately 37°F.
The sensor connects to a compatible irrigation controller sensor input or approved common-wire circuit using the attached 25-foot cable. Once rainfall has ended, the moisture-responsive components dry according to sunlight, wind, humidity, and the vent-ring setting, allowing automatic irrigation to resume. The freeze function is preset and does not require adjustment.
RFC is the wired configuration and does not use a wireless receiver, radio frequency, or battery. It should be mounted where it receives representative natural rainfall, away from sprinkler spray, and where the freeze-sensing portion is protected from direct sunlight while still receiving free outdoor airflow.
