Compatibility & Installation Notes
Have a qualified installer configure the heater for the available gas supply, size the vent and condensate system, and confirm water and gas pressure. Outdoor use requires the separately sold Rinnai RXOVC vent cap. Install the BF.HG-34 on the cold-water inlet only. Its limits are 30-75 PSI, 40-100°F water temperature and 9.5 GPM maximum flow. The filter must be included in system flow and pressure-drop calculations; the heater’s maximum GPM is not a guaranteed assembled-bundle flow rate. Keep hot water and thermal expansion from entering the filter. The filter does not replace water softening when required, water-quality treatment, heater flushing or manufacturer maintenance.
