Quick choosing guide

  1. Match the socket & voltage: most landscape fixtures use 12V GU5.3. Only choose GU10/120V if your fixture is line-voltage.
  2. Pick the beam for the target: 15–25° to highlight trees/statues; ~36° for general accents; 60°+ to wash walls or broad plants.
  3. Set brightness & look: LED 4–5W ≈ old 35W halogen; 6–8W ≈ 50W. Choose 2700–3000K for warm gardens; 4000K for a crisper tone.
  4. Plan control: using dimmers or multi-tap transformers? Choose dimmable, 12V AC/DC compatible LEDs and keep voltage drop in check.

Pro tips: Aim for ~11–12V at the farthest 12V fixture, keep color temperature consistent within a zone, and use wet-rated, enclosed fixtures near irrigation. If LED lamps flicker or won’t dim low, add headroom on the transformer, use a hub layout, or choose lamps rated for magnetic/electronic systems.
