Quick choosing guide

  1. Confirm voltage and base: most PAR36 landscape lamps are 12V with screw or spade tabs; verify fixture polarity for LED.
  2. Pick the beam: 10–25 deg to reach tall trees or signage; ~36 deg for general accents; 60 deg+ to wash walls and broad canopies.
  3. Set brightness: LED 9–12W is similar to old 35–50W halogen; go higher output for long throws or tall targets.
  4. Choose color: 2700–3000K feels warm outdoors; keep CCT consistent within a zone.
  5. Fixture rating: use sealed outdoor housings; for submersible installs the fixture must be IP68 and lamp-ready—never splice under water.

Pro tips: Replace housing gaskets during relamps, clean lenses for max output, and aim after dark for perfect highlights. Test voltage at the farthest fixture and label runs in the transformer. Flicker or early failures usually point to low voltage or moisture—fix those first. Questions? Share fixture type, beam goal, and transformer size and we will recommend a dialed-in PAR36.
