Quick choosing guide

1. Measure stem length: measure from the inside mounting point to the exterior wall face; choose the next available length. Add for brick or stucco thickness.
2. Pick the connection: match to your piping method: sweat copper, threaded, or PEX. Verify 1/2 vs 3/4 in.
3. Choose operation: quarter turn is fast and easy with gloves; multi turn gives finer control.
4. Backflow and code: select models with integral vacuum breaker. Many areas require ASSE 1019 anti siphon protection.
5. Install for freeze protection: set the body with a slight downward pitch to the exterior so it drains, and locate the shutoff in conditioned space.
6. Want warm water: choose a hot and cold mixing hydrant for washing pets, tools, or vehicles.

 Pro tips: Mount to solid backing, seal the exterior flange, and pitch the hydrant slightly downward outdoors. Remove hoses before freezing weather and use a cover if needed. For best results, install a dedicated indoor shutoff with drain. Replacing parts? Match the model number on the casting and measure the stem from seat to handle.
