Wall Hydrants

When outdoor watering access meets winter weather, you need more than a simple hose bibb — you need a properly engineered wall hydrant. Also called “non-freeze wall hydrants” or “frost-proof outdoor faucets,” these valves are built so that the shut-off mechanism remains inside heated space and residual water drains out to prevent freeze damage. Many models include integrated vacuum breakers or backflow preventers to ensure compliance and protect potable water systems.

When you install a wall hydrant, slope the flange slightly downward (3-5°) toward the exterior so the barrel drains properly. Confirm your local code’s requirement for vacuum breakers or anti-siphon features.
