Quick choosing guide
- Size by demand: total peak fixtures and calculate GPM at your winter temperature rise; select a unit that meets that flow on the spec curve.
- Pick location & fuel: indoor with a vent route or outdoor where climate allows; choose natural gas or propane and confirm gas line capacity.
- Efficiency: choose condensing for higher efficiency (plan a condensate drain/neutralizer) or non-condensing for straightforward replacements.
- Faster hot water: pick a built-in recirc model or add a recirc kit to a recirc-ready unit; set schedules to reduce wait time.
- Venting: select concentric or 2-pipe per the manual; follow clearances and use approved materials and terminations.
- Complete the kit: install isolation/flush valves, pipe cover if desired, controller/Wi-Fi, sediment filter, and proper electrical/gas shutoff.
